    IAFF & OBAMA

As a proud union member, I have a question for everyone especially the members of the IAFF that support the company line and endorsed Obama...

In the past Presidential elections, you would always see firefighters in the back ground during speeched and rallys that had the Firefighter for..... you know the black & gold tshirts....well I have yet to see anyone standing with Obama...or atleast they arent making the TV clips. It sure doesnt look like Obama is getting the support from the IAFF troops to me. I havent even seen any pics of Harold with Obama.....maybe Obama isnt offering a cabnet position to him....What do my Brother/Sister IAFF members think????

    Re: IAFF & OBAMA

Well Fools45002, I'm going to take a stab at this, before anyone else does, even if most of you think I'm some piss-ant, fancy fire t-shirt wearing, fire stickers all over my vehicle, idiot volunteer.  If I was in the IAFF or any other union for that matter that supported Obama, I'd be pretty damn embarrassed.  Granted, McCain ain't much better, and neither has most of the other Presidental candidates in the past few elections, but God Damn.  Obama is a piss poor human-being, let alone a politition.  Go take a look at the "watch this before you vote" post and watch it carefully and as many times as you need too before it sinks in.  Hell, watch it 2 or 3 times a day before the election if you have too.  Hell, google as much dirt on both Obama and McCain both and I'll bet that you'll find less on McCain.  Anyone with any union or for that matter, anyone with any good common-sense what so ever should show who to endorse this year.

    McCain and Palin

    Re: IAFF & OBAMA

My response will be brief.  God help us all if Obama gets in.  You think the financial situation we are in now is bad, just wait because this is just a pimple on the ass of life compared to how it will be if the radical left rules.  The taxes we pay, and, yes, they'll be a shitload higher, will go to support exponentially more bureaucracy it takes to regulate everything we do and to pay for all of the illegal immigrants that will be pouring into the country (think we have enough now, HAH, just wait!) for the handouts.  Don't even get me going about what he'll do to the military and our standing as a world super power.  No, McCain/Palin aren't the best, but they're a fuck load better than the alternative.
We don't get paid for what we do. We get paid for what we might have to do.

    Re: IAFF & OBAMA

I will not tell anyone how to vote, but I do not agree with the IAFF support of Obama.  Traditionally, (there is that word again) the IAFF has supported a democratic party delegate due to the fact that the dems are more pro-union and the repub's are more anti-union.  My suggestion is to turn off the tv..those "experts" are puppetheaded, stuffed shirts reading from a teleprompter..and do some solid research.  Brad Pitt, Batman Clooney (I forgot his first name) and Sean Penn are not experts and due to the fact that they make a living by pretending (acting) to be other people, I do not put much credit into their opinions.  If we (firefighters and our families) do research and educate ourselves, maybe we can cancel out the votes of the general public based on which candidate is more "do-able", bettter looking or black/white etc.

FF-P 54 - Well once again YOUR true colors and STUPIDITY COMES OUT IN SO MANY WAYS.  Do yourself a favor and go back and read exactly what Fools54002 wrote before you speak you fucking idiot.  Better yet, here's what he said:

Last I checked, everyone means EVERYONE, and like it our not, I'm part of EVERYONE.  And Fools45002, I want to appologize for the modifications that I made.

FF-P 54 what specifically do you like about Obama?

    Re: IAFF & OBAMA

there is a great place on the IAFF website that compares the candidates and all of the issues.  even my 75 year old Gramma was crying last night about the fact that she won't be able to vote republican this year.  actually crying.

you can do the research and find out whatever you want about a candidate.  somewhere there is a website that will say anything about anyone.  it is our responsibility to sift through the bullshit and make the best decisions that we can.  it just so happens that i am proud to support the candidate that the IAFF is now endorsing, and probably should have from the beginning.

    Re: IAFF & OBAMA

I own guns. I'll never vote for the National Socialist Democrat Party candidate.

I also don't believe you have an inalienable right to go through life being unoffended.

I don't hate the rich, and I don't believe punishing them will work will happen. Obama's already been bought. Not by the IAFF, not by the middle class. By rich people. You're a fool if you think he'll stand up for us beyond some token legislation. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he's decided he won't run for a second term--which is the decision anyone who will really oppose the status quo must make. Of course, there's all the mercenaries in congress who will dig in and prevent him from making real changes. The only bipartisanship in our government is money. It comes from lobbies and PACs and it's simply the buying of votes. If you had enough money, you could get a bill written legalizing execution of corporate spies or removal of worker's rights. You could legalize personal nuclear reactors if you had enough money. The moment someone attains office, they begin running for the next term. They don't govern, they campaign. Our elected officials are either lame ducks or in a constant state of campaigning. Campaigning is a popularity contest won by exposure and empty promises, which are fueled by money. The public promises are made to the people who aren't signing the big checks. The real promises are made behind closed doors.

I don't vote for candidates. I vote against candidates.

I'm kind of a big deal around here.

    Re: IAFF & OBAMA

I want to know why it is so "dirty" to question what Obama's relationship is with Bill Ayers, or Rezko, or Acorn, or how his admission to Harvard was helped along by Khalid al-Mansour a Saudi that mentored the Black Panther Party? The man is running for the highest office in the land but if you ask him a tough question you are a racist. He claims he was 8 when bill ayers was bombing the pentagon, capital and NYC police HQ. How old was Obama in 2001 when Ayers said he didn't regret those bombing, or in 2004 when Ayers went to Venezuela to chat with Hugo about how we need our school system to be more like their communist schools, or more recently when there's a picture of him standing on an American flag?

He claims he has had no relationship with Acorn but he was their advisor and attorney. A blatant lie.

And now we have wide spread voter fraud for Obama. If you can vote for the guy who is cheating to win then you're not an American. I feel like I'm in the middle of some election in Kenya or South America where the people vote but the vote doesn't matter because the dictator just fudged the count.
